Suryansh Shedge has replaced Hardik Pandya in the India A squad for the three-match one-day series against Australia A, Sportstar understands.

Hardik, who had been named in the squad subject to fitness clearance, has been ruled out of the series after suffering a fresh injury. The one-dayers begin on October 6 in Puducherry.

The series was expected to be an important test of Hardik's fitness, particularly his ability to bowl 10 overs in a 50-over game, ahead of India's five-match ODI tour of New Zealand starting November 4.

Hardik has not played an ODI since the Champions Trophy final in March last year. His fitness has remained a concern as India builds towards the 2027 ODI World Cup, with the all-rounder having had limited opportunities to prove his availability for the 50-over format.

Meanwhile, Jharkhand spinner Anukul Roy has also been drafted in to replace Naman Dhir, who in turn has taken Washington Sundar's place in the India team for the West Indies T20Is.
