FIFA executive Arsène Wenger on Tuesday backed the decision to drop Gianni Infantino’s plan to sell World Cup profit stakes. Wenger said, “The decision to withdraw the project was absolutely necessary and beyond question.” Infantino withdrew the $20 billion proposal early Saturday after many global soccer officials showed strong opposition.
