The Lok Sabha passed the Bankers' Books Evidence Act, 2026, on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, without any debate. Amid relentless Opposition protests, the Bill got passed by a voice vote. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said, "Congress leader K.C. Venugopal is a good person, he has not been able to control his party MPs."
