Did Narottam Mishra's ticket snub cost BJP the Datia bypoll?

Congress candidate Kunwar Ghanshyam Singh won the Datia bypoll held on July 30, securing 66,757 votes against BJP’s Ashutosh Tiwari. While many blamed the party for sidelining Narottam Mishra, a lawmaker said, “Even if Mishra had been fielded, the party would have still lost because the upper-caste vote is alienated.”
