Ujjwal Nikam flagged the delay in acquittal appeals and sought timely justice. He said, “The criminal justice system has two supporting pillars-- a fair trial and timely justice.” With over seven lakh criminal appeals pending in high courts as of March 25, 2025, many cases remain unheard for too long.
