In Supreme Court, govt flags concerns over gender self-identification

The government told the Supreme Court on Monday that gender self-identification could make 169 statutory provisions unworkable. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said, "I must point out that at least 169 statutory provisions across different laws will become unworkable." The court will hear the matter again on August 17 to protect rights.
