HC revokes ‘private forest’ status, raps state government

The High Court revoked the ‘private forest’ status of several land parcels on July 23. Justices Bharati Dangre and Manjusha Deshpande said the state government ignored Supreme Court rulings from 2014 and 2025. The court noted, “The state continued with its obstinacy even today,” regarding mandatory notices for land acquisition.
