Demand to investigate causes of flood widens as CBI probe call grows in Assam

The demand for a CBI probe into the devastating floods in four Upper Assam districts intensified on Monday. The Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti called the disaster man-made, blaming illegal mining for the destruction. "We are seeking a CBI inquiry to know the causes, to find those responsible and to fix accountability."
