Rupee falls to record low of 96.90 against U.S. dollar in early trade

The Rupee hit a new low of 96.90 against the dollar on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. This happened because the dollar got stronger and oil prices were high. Forex traders said, "outflow by Foreign Institutional Investors" also pushed the Rupee down, as stock markets fell too.
