Filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi is adapting Syed Asghar Wajahat’s famous play, Jis Lahore Nai Vekhya, O Jamyai Nai, into a film titled Batwara 1947. Wajahat said, “Only politicians across parties have exploited the sentiments.” This cinematic version explores Partition themes, bringing the celebrated stage characters to a much wider audience today.
