Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 3: The Conclusion crossed the Rs 100 crore mark at the box office. The film shares a unique link with pav bhaji, as the dish served as a key alibi in the franchise. PVR INOX even offered pav bhaji coupons to fans who booked tickets on October 2.
Pav Bhaji is a popular Indian streetfood that comes with a mashed and spiced bhaji along with 2 pav. This easy recipe by Chef Ranveer Brar is perfect to make at home.
Ajay Devgn's Drishyam 3: The Conclusion is faring well at the box office, with the first-weekend collection crossing the Rs 100 crore mark. The crime-thriller franchise, which is a remake of the Malayalam version with the same name, has an unlikely food connection. And this dish has become somewhat synonymous with the film itself.
And that is pav bhaji.
If you too are left wondering how this food link arose, you have to thank social media for this bizarre connection.
Directed by Abhishek Pathak, Drishyam 3: The Conclusion also stars Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, Jaideep Ahlawat, Prakash Raj, Kamlesh Sawant, Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav in key roles. The film brings back Ajay Devgn as Vijay Salgaonkar, the man who can go to any lengths to protect his family. Picking up from the events of the sequel, the story revolves around Vijay trying to stay one step ahead of the law while protecting his wife Nandini and daughters.
And if you are still wondering where the pav bhaji fits in, let me explain:
If you've watched the first Drishyam film, Vijay Salgaonkar and his family use October 2 as their core alibi after his eldest daughter kills her classmate for leaking her private videos. In order to cover up the crime, Vijay claims that their entire family went to Panaji to attend a satsang and ate pav bhaji after. This is where the connection has risen and has become a big part of the promotion of the latest film.
To celebrate this iconic franchise detail tied to October 2 and pav bhaji, PVR INOX ran a special promotional ticket offer. The first 500 customers who book at least four tickets for Drishyam: The Conclusion in a single transaction via the PVR INOX app or website will receive a pav bhaji coupon. The offer could be availed on October 2 at select PVR INOX cinemas in Mumbai, Delhi-NCR and Gurugram.
