Less than one in five senior management roles in corporate India held by women

Women held less than one in five senior management positions in corporate India in 2025-26. Government data showed women occupied 43,331 of the 252,103 roles. While the gap remains wide, the number of women directors crossed one million for the first time, showing a slow but steady rise in representation.
