FCNR(B) deposits nearly double after RBI swap window; SBI leads mobilisation

FCNR(B) deposits rose from $32.56 billion on June 5, 2026, to $60.55 billion on July 30, 2026, after the RBI started a special swap window. State Bank of India led this growth. Minister Pankaj Chaudhary said, "The measure is intended to attract stable foreign currency inflows, strengthen India’s balance of payments."
