Data embassies, sovereign cloud at the heart of India's data centre roadmap

The Centre is creating a roadmap to host foreign data embassies and build sovereign cloud infrastructure. India’s data centre capacity grew from 375 megawatts in 2020 to nearly 1,500MW today. The government now wants to promote local hardware manufacturing and expand edge centres to tier-II and tier-III cities for growth.
